Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease caused by accumulation of fats. Increase in body fats negatively hinders the biological role of insulin, causing insulin resistance which affect glucose metabolism and uptake. Obesity can be a leading cause of diabetes mellitus and cardiometabolic disease.
